DEBBIE ARMOUR: Down By the Greenwood Side: Songs of the Forest Singing Workshop
Sunday 31 August
12.30 – 2PM
The Arts Space, Zellig

THIS WORKSHOP IS NOW FULL

After a joyful workshop last year, Debbie Armour (Burd Ellen) is back to share Down By The Greenwood Side: Folk Song From The Forest. We’ll be singing some British folk with a forest theme. You’ll also be invited to take part in a special pop-up performance as part of our ‘Supersonic Choir’ later on in the day. As ever, no experience is necessary, all songs will be taught by ear at a gentle pace. Everyone is welcome to sing with us at the workshop and there’s no obligation to perform if you do.

Debbie Armour is a singer and musician, working primarily with traditional song. Broadly, her work is motivated by persistence, resonance and deep cultural roots. In her primary project, Burd Ellen, she uses British and international traditional song as a foundation to build conceptual works and explore tradition in a contemporary setting. She is also a founder member of critically acclaimed contemporary acapella group Green Ribbons. Her work is multilingual, with releases in English, Scots, Gaelic and Welsh. In addition to her performance work, Debbie develops and delivers a variety of community projects.

To express your interest please sign up here – we’ll be in touch to confirm your place and provide details about the workshop and performance.

Please note, entry to these workshops is included in the Supersonic Festival ticket – a festival ticket for the relevant day (or the full weekend) is required!
