Water Damage are a Texas-based droning supergroup of sorts, composed of experimental veterans from projects including Spray Paint, Black Eyes, Swans, more eaze, USA/Mexico, and more. With such a pedigree, the band are no strangers to the unshakeable power of sound. But as Water Damage, they take drone to its very limits, following their motto: Maximal Repetition, Minimal Deviation – once an idea takes off, they pursue it forever.
Often deploying a rhythm section of two drummers and two bassists, surrounded by a dense array of homemade and traditional string instruments, they generate an ever-present, unrelenting constant of resonant distortion and layered overtones. Water Damage harness the full force of drone – creating an immersive, all-consuming soundscape that can dissolve time.
