We are delighted to welcome back Shovel Dance Collective to Birmingham to host our next Supersonic Kids Gig.
Shovel Dance Collective are a group of nine musicians united by a passion for the beauty, force, and political charge of the traditional musics of Britain, Ireland and beyond. They are committed to Folk music not as an archaeological artifact to be unearthed, but as a living communal activity – inviting and generous to those it speaks to.
Created by the UK’s premiere experimental music festival, Supersonic Kids Gigs are designed for families as a way of introducing children to experimental music – BIG sounds for little people!
“I love the depth of the performances, and the willingness to show kids exciting and beautiful music without worrying about it being over explained. A hit for the kids and parents for sure. The show was expertly hosted with infectious enthusiasm and timing.”
“Kids Gigs are always such good fun – great performance and a brilliant atmosphere!”
