Supersonic Kids Gigs are designed for families as a way of introducing children to experimental music – BIG sounds for little people! This show takes place as a Live Stream on Zoom, so you can join us for the usual Kids Gig fun from the comfort of home.

This latest edition of our online Kids Gigs is with the DIY label, CURL – a collective based in London featuring Mica Levi, Coby Sey and Brother May.

Formed with the intent of performing, selecting and releasing music created via multidisciplinary practices, this everything-but-the-kitchen-sink body of artists will be entertaining the family with their progressive, post-genre experiments. In this Supersonic Kids Gig exclusive, we have the honour of being flies on the wall of their rehearsal room, as they demonstrate their inventive and offbeat approach to creating music…

MICA LEVI, also know as Micachu, is a rebel with a cause: to smash up the divisions between musical genres, from three-note punk to the finest classical score. A musician since the age of 4, they have gone on to form the band Micachu & the Shapes and are now a multi-award-winning composer thanks to their unnervingly beautiful soundtracks for films like Under the Skin & Jackie.

COBY SEY is a vocalist, musician and DJ from South East London who offers a shifting, disorienting vision of club music. A long-time collaborator with Mica Levi, Tirzah, Babyfather, Klein and Kwes, Coby’s recorded work spans the realms of hip hop, drone, techno, post-punk, fusion and more.

BROTHER MAY is is a versatile songwriter, producer, and MC. He’s a creative auteur, sculpting spontaneous ideas into new and innovative forms through music and sound that’s based upon ideals of freedom and expressivity.

And to top it off… we are delighted that this Kids Gig special will be hosted once more by everyone’s favourite alt-rocker and pyscho-storyteller, Anna Palmer from Dorcha. Grab a copy of her Supersonic Kids album here.
