Whilst our festival is kicking off in Birmingham, June of 44 + Rattle will be bringing the Supersonic spirit to the good folks of London. Alongside Upset The Rhythm, we are so excited to host June of 44 for their first UK show in 23 years! They’ll be supported by the hypnotic sounds of drumming duo, Rattle.

JUNE OF 44

Formed in the fall of 1994, June of 44 are a super-group collective with a rich underground lineage of members from beloved bands - Rodan, Lungfish, Codeine, Rex, Hoover and Shipping News.

Truly a who’s who of the indie world, together they have often been referred to as the punk rock pirates of the math rock world. The band are cited for their artistic hand-crafted record packaging for music that ranges from experimental jazz to ambient dub to angular post punk.

“It will have been 23 years since performing in the United Kingdom… so much life, too many wars, so much music, a few extraordinary babies, heart-breaking loss, real struggle, epic success, total failure – for all of us.”

RATTLE

If the idea of a band consisting of just 2 drummers brings to mind a hippy bongo nightmare then you’ve obviously never heard RATTLE. Comprising of 2 of Nottingham’s most unique and recognisable drummers (Theresa Wrigley of Fists and Katharine Brown of KOGUMAZA) and aided by Kogumaza’s Mark Spivey they create a hypnotic and danceable music form that recalls This Heat or ESG even whilst remaining completely their own.
