Musical instrument maker Sam Underwood will host a special event that will provide a peek behind the scenes of a number of projects appearing as part of this year’s festival. Artists have been invited to come and show their work and discuss their thinking behind it. Audience members will gain a unique insight into a number of beautiful and bizarre contraptions, works and approaches. Questions are welcome throughout this salon style event and many of the pieces will be there for you to explore. In addition Centrala have a great selection of beverages to get your Supersonic weekend started.
In-keeping with the spirit of this event Sam will bring along his latest work, created in collaboration with artist Graham Dunning. Connected Devices is a newly commissioned semi-autonomous, modular, mechanical musical instrument, premiering at Supersonic Festival. Find out what drove Sam and Graham to collaborate on this work. Other artists include Brian Duffy, Farmer Glitch, Kathy Hinde and Mark Korven.
