Since their inception, Gnod’s musical trajectory has been one of constant fluctuation, borne out of an incessant need to discover new sonic worlds. Alongside their crushing protest punk, we’re chuffed to welcome Birmingham’s Total Luck to the Supersonic stage for the first time.

Beginning life as a shamanic drone ensemble, at times fitting up to 15 members on stage, these early rituals informed the core ideals that have come to define the group in their years of activity; community and trance-inducing repetition. The current live incarnation of the band is characterised by a crushing, cataclysmic new protest music whose call to arms gravitas offers a meaningful defiance to Austerity Britain. Gnod have taken their very namesake and charged it with a bludgeoning, euphoric new edge.

“Gnod use their noise and their distortion in a way that suits the contemporary political atmosphere”– The Quietus

The band will be performing music from their new album ‘Hexen Valley’ out April 1st on Rocket Recordings. Inspired by shop noticeboard messages and pub conversations in Hebden as lyrical sparks; this music channels the ‘valley fever’ that exists somewhere in the chasms and contrasts between the amazing light and vivacity of the valley summit and the comparative darkness of the towns below.

Bringing a new ferocity and energy to any space that will have them, Total Luck combine the minimalism and harshness of No Wave with the fast and chaotic thrash of Hardcore. Switching between spoken word and typically loud, punk vocals, Total Luck have quickly found their identity in Birmingham’s music scene with their robust sound.
