Farida Amadou is a self-taught bass player based in Belgium. Since 2011 she has taken the Electric Bass to new dimensions, exploring notions of blues, jazz and hip-hop through mind-warping freely improvised music.
A former member of punk/noise band Cocaine Piss, Farida is no stranger to collaboration. She’s performed with Sonic Youth’s guitarist Thurston Moore, has started a new duo project with the drummer Steve Noble and has recently joined forces with the free jazz pioneer, Peter Brötzmann.
“I just want to learn from people and play as much as I can before I die.”
