Get involved and get creative with a joyously interactive drawing workshop from Old Bort Designs aka Emily Doyle.
A multidisciplinary artist based in Birmingham, Emily’s (she/her) practice is ever-expanding; she enjoys drawing, painting, crochet, and loitering in the Jewellery Quarter Cemeteries. She appeared at last year’s IWD Event performing with Sofa King, and is itching to get back to gigging with country-noir trio The Devil and Saint Joseph.
For International Women’s Day 2021, she is inviting you to explore your sense of identity in the workshop “Symbolism and Self”. Taking inspiration from the likes of Frida Kahlo and Leonora Carrington, we’ll be creating self-portraits that are more than just a pretty face. All you need is something to draw on and something to draw with, so break out the markers or crayons and tune in for an interactive, fast paced session of creative experimentation!
