We’re celebrating 25 years of Capsule Events, and there’s no better way to mark the occasion than by bringing together some of our favourite bands for a festive Christmas celebration! The party will see live performances from Big Joanie, THE NONE, and Flesh Creep, all of whom perfectly embody the spirit of Capsule. Limber up, and get your dancing shoes on for a medley of heavy hits and power ballads from our guest DJs, PLUS a plethora of ‘organised’ fun and general merriment!
 
Starting out 25 years ago, our first event took place at the turn of a new century when the world was on the cusp of ending because of the millennium bug, it’s a miracle we’re here to celebrate and only made possible through sheer grit and determination, we’ve had the honour of working with some of the most extraordinary artists, been supported by the most wonderful audience and our Capsule family has grown and evolved over the years to become what it is today!

 

Big Joanie are a UK-based Black feminist punk band who combine the fury of nineties riot grrrl with synth- heavy post punk. Formed in July 2013, they describe their sound as “The Ronettes filtered through 80s DIY and Riot Grrrl with a sprinkling of dashikis.” Big Joanie was formed to make powerful music and create a continuum for Black punks by presenting a strong, powerful vision of Black womanhood and highlighting the punks who came before them.

THE NONE are a band of lifelong musicians. Comprising of Birmingham and Supersonic Recordings own Kaila Whyte (Blue Ruth, Youth Man) on vocals, bassist Gordon Moakes (Bloc Party, Young Legionnaire), guitarist Jim Beck (Cassels) and drummer Chris Francombe (Frauds), they make an uncompromising vision of noise rock with melody at its heart, channelling the spirit of The Jesus Lizard, Silverfish and Unwound.

Flesh Creep are a hardcore punk band from Birmingham, UK that fuses a blend of raw energy and unapologetic fury, a cocktail of tunes ready to set the stage ablaze. Fans of SPY, Destiny Bond, and BIB, you’re in for a treat…
