MATTERS debut album ‘Echolocations’ on Supersonic Recordings

Supersonic Recordings are proud to release ‘Echolocations’, the hypnotic new album from Matters, a Birmingham-based band pushing the boundaries of techno, psychedelic, industrial and electronic music.

Since 2015, Brid Rose & Stuart Lee Tovey of Matters have weaved a dark, driving, all-encompassing sound; shifting seamlessly from film score to basement nightclub to industrial noise. Taking a DIY approach, they produce intoxicating live shows with self-made animated visuals and immersive lighting designs.

Their latest output ‘Echolocations’, an innovative collection of five songs, sees the band delve further into otherworldly realms; journeying through the deepest polarities of sound and exploring the planes between reality and imagination. Inspired by the aesthetic of liminal spaces, the music responds to the ambiguity of present day, capturing a feeling of collective disorientation and limbo. ‘Echolocations’ wills us to traverse the tunnel, acknowledge our liminal state and break out of it, into something tangible and genuine.
